DAS HONORS

2008 NFL Kicker Morten Andersen

Started in 1975, the "Person of the Year" Award is given by the Danish American Society at an almost annual dinner dance to the person or group of people, who has contributed meaningfully to the bonds between the United States and Denmark.
Over the years the Society has joined forces with the Danish-American Chamber of Commerce and awarded many worthy recipients. These include both Danish Citizens and Americans with ties to Denmark. Please find a complete list of past honoree's on the Person of the Year Award Recipients page.
Our last Person of the Year honor was awarded in 2005 and given to former Ambassdor to Denmark, John L. Loeb, Jr. for his tireless promotion of Danish culture in the United States throughout the years.
