| Gitte Lindstrøm was born in 1975. She was admitted to the Royal Danish Theatre Ballet School in 1984, became apprentice in 1992, member of the Corps de Ballet in 1994, soloist in 1997 and solo dancer in 1998. |
| Her prinicipal solo performances at the Royal Danish Theatre include Tatjana in Onegin, Odette/Odile in Swan Lake, Aurora in The Sleeping Beauty, Ella in Legs of Fire, Myrtha in Giselle, Kitri and the Dryad Queen in Don Quixote, Valencienne in The Merry Widow, the Princess in The Nutcracker, Teresena in Napoli, the Ballerina in Etudes, and Anna in Anna Karenina. She has furthermore performed in Hallelujah Junction, Octet, Appolon, Violin Concerto, Seranade, Stepping Stones, Return to a Strange Land, Suite en Blanc, Mahler's 5th Symphony, The Odyssey, A Folk Tale, Le Conservatoire and Abdallah. |
| She has also had solo performances in Symfoni i C, Violin Concerto, The Odyssey, A Folk Tale and Palmyra i Abdallah. |
| Gitte Lindstrøm has performed at the New York City Ballet (January-February 2002) and with the Royal Swedish Ballet (March 2005). She has performed across most of Europe, China, Japan, Africa, Brazil and the USA. |
| She has received The Statoil Grant 1993, the Edith Allers Foundation Memorial Grant 1996, the Albert Goubier Foundation Grant 1999, and the Hans Beck Foundation Grant 2000. |
