Biography of Christina Olsson

Rose Gad was born in Copenhagen in 1968. She was admitted to the Royal Danish Theatre Ballet School in 1976, apprentice in 1984, corps dancer in 1986, soloist in 1991 and solo dancer since 1992.
Her principal lead and title roles at the Royal Danish Theatre include The title role in La Sylphide, Irma in Abdallah, Miss Birthe in A Folk Tale, Victorine and Eliza in La Conservatoire, the Ballerina in Etudes, the Princess in The Nutcracker, Aurora in The Sleeping Beauty, Myrtha in Giselle, the title role in The Merry Widow, Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream,Tchaikovsky's Pas de deux, Tchaikovsky's 2nd Piano Concerto, Kalliope and Polyhymnia in Appollon and Allegro Brilliante.
Her principal soloist appearances include Pas de six in Napoli,The Flower Festival in Genzano, Effy in La Sylphide, the Dryad Queen and the Street Dancer in Don Quixote, the Lilac Fairy in The Sleeping Beauty, the Snow Queen in The Nutcracker, the Pas de quatre and Russian Pas de deux in Swan Lake, the Mistress in Manon,Suite en blanc, Serenade, Violin Concerto, Agon, Symphony in C, En favns eftermiddag, The Concert, Pollacca, Fearful Symmetries, Jazz, Mahler's 5th Symphony, Rhapsody in Blue, Jardi Tancat and In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated.
Other appearances include Gala performances in Finland, Italy and Estonia. Christina Olsson has performed across most of South America and in Iceland with Principal and Soloist Dancers of the Royal Danish Ballet. She has also performed on several occasions with Alexander Kølpin's Copenhagen International Ballet.
Her awards include The Neptun Grant in 1986, the 1989 DANCE Award, the 1990 Bournonville Award, The Sven Åge Larsen Grant in 1993 and the Albert Gaubier's Grant in 1997.
